Hello drummers. I have been playing drums for approximately 37 years. While I'm known for being able to play all styles of music effectively; I'm also notorious for dropping sticks. I have developed a simple, yet effective tool, which greatly reduces and/or eliminates dropping sticks while playing. The tool is called Stop Drops.

Here's how Stop Drops work:

1) Place the top, slightly larger loop around and down the middle finger.

2) Place the bottom loop around the end of the drumstick.

3) Snug the loop around the end of the stick by gently sliding the o-rings toward the stick.

The sticks stay within grasp or control even though the hands are in the open position.

The Stop Drops can be used with both traditional grip and classical/match grip without restriction.

Stop Drops can be used with cross stick grip.

If the drumstick breaks while playing, simply push the stick through and out of the bottom or end loop with the thumb as illustrated below. Retreive a replacement stick and when possible follow and repeat step #2.

Although the primary purpose for using stop-drops is to prevent dropping drumsticks, stronger grip and greater strength control is also developed after using Stop Drops. This stronger grip and greater strength control is evident when Stop Drops are not in use.
